2026.9.9 the assistant stays quiet when it hands a message over, and the Scribe shows its evidence beside the note

A release about keeping promises. A clinic that asked the assistant to send only approved wording by text now gets exactly that, however a message reaches your team. And the AI Scribe's review screen puts the evidence for each sentence beside the note instead of on top of it, says honestly what the note left out, and turns follow-up actions into something a coordinator can act on.

No automatic reply when the assistant hands a message to your team

With approved replies set to Strict, a text, portal or email message the approved wording doesn't cover is passed to a coordinator without a reply. That already held for most messages, but when the assistant handed a message over on its own (for example after a patient sent the email address your team had asked for) it still texted "I've shared your request with our care team, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible." That line is gone at Strict. The message still reaches your team and reads No automatic reply sent. Passed to a coordinator. in Conversations.

Unchanged, on purpose: STOP confirmations, consent and date-of-birth prompts, and the direction to call 911 when a patient describes an emergency. Calls keep their spoken hand-off, because silence on a phone line sounds like a dropped call.

Two related fixes for text messaging:

  • After a patient confirms their date of birth, a question the assistant does not answer no longer leaves their conversation waiting for a date of birth.
  • A text that cannot be delivered, for example to a number in a region texting is not enabled for, now shows as failed instead of being retried in the background.

AI Scribe: the evidence beside the note

Selecting a sentence on the review screen now shows the transcript lines it rests on in a column beside the note, with a line of context around each and the quoted words marked, instead of a panel that covered the rest of the paragraph. On a narrower screen the lines appear under the paragraph. The arrow keys move from sentence to sentence. A flagged sentence offers Edit, Remove and Ask about this; a sentence that passed its checks offers Edit.

The transcript's count of what the note left out is now honest. Each line the note does not cite is read against the note, so small talk and things the note says in other words are no longer counted: a consultation that used to show 49 lines not in note now shows the one line that genuinely is not. A note written before this release says plainly that no second reading was made.

AI Scribe: follow-up actions you can act on

Follow-up actions now say who is to do each one (the patient, the clinician, the clinic, or the couple) and when the room said it should happen. The same action is listed once, and an action for something already booked for the patient says so. A decision can be changed: Change this returns an accepted or dismissed action to undecided, and the record keeps who had decided and when.

AI Scribe: smaller changes

  • Nurses. A nurse's recording (a teaching visit, or a staff member whose role is Nurse) is captioned Nurse rather than Clinician, and the note says "the nurse". The Speakers matched line names the person who recorded.
  • While the note is being written, the screen shows where it is (recording saved, transcribing, matching speakers, writing and checking the note) and when you stopped. You can leave; the note appears in the review queue.
  • Copy copies what is on screen and says so: Copy the note or Copy the transcript.
  • Documents from the session keep their paragraphs, lists and headings when shown and pasted, and a rewrite into another language stays in that language. Four quick asks fill in a common request for you to edit.
  • Note templates: the list no longer reads not used for any visit beside last used, the editor's reorder controls are quiet icons, removing a section can be undone, and leaving with unsaved changes asks first. The surrogacy template carries the counseling content an external note review asked for.
  • The consent and stop dialogs keep keyboard focus inside them and close with Escape, and the review queue states a shared remark once rather than on every row.

Also in this release

  • A visitor who books a nurse-intake call through Eva, or whom your team books, gets one confirmation: by text where your clinic may text them, otherwise by email. See Referrals workflow.
  • In the patient portal, a reply the assistant sent on its own is shown to the patient as from your care team.
  • The "What's new" card no longer appears twice around sign-in.
