2026.9.8 lab results reach the patient in their own words, and Scribe templates are written as text
Two threads run through this release. A Day-5 embryology result now travels from the laboratory to the patient's portal with a clinician's approved explanation attached, in the patient's language, and nobody types a number along the way. And the AI Scribe's note templates are now written as plain text, the way you would write one for a colleague, with the visit kind, template and language named before the recording starts.
A Day-5 update the patient can read
The laboratory posts the Day-5 embryology summary, and a picture for each embryo grade, directly over the lab feed. The entry lands on the patient's cycle with the pictures beside their grades. Staff and physicians see it on the Day-5 Summary tab of the cycle.
Releasing it to the patient is a two-step gate. The entry is verified like any other monitoring value; separately, an explanation of what the result means is drafted for the clinician to review. The clinician reads the draft, edits it in place or asks for a rewrite in their own words ("shorter, and say what happens on Friday"), and approves it. A rewrite can only rephrase: it cannot add a number, a grade or a prognosis the entry does not carry. Only an approved explanation reaches the patient, and it names no model.
The patient then sees the update on their portal timeline, greeted by name, with the explanation quoted from their care team in their own language. The same approved wording is what Eva uses if the patient asks about their results in portal chat or on the phone; a results question is answered with the clinician's note as written, never paraphrased into advice.
Optionally, one text goes to the patient when an explanation is approved: "A new update from your care team is ready in the patient portal." It carries no clinical content, is sent once per result, and only inside the hours your clinic sets, so a result approved at 7 pm is announced the next morning. It is off by default; an administrator turns it on under Settings › Portal › Patient explanations. See Fertility clinical tracking.
AI Scribe: templates as text, and a recording that says what it will be
A note template can now be one plain-text document, using the conventions
many clinics already have templates in: a plain line is a heading, [square brackets] say what to write there from the visit, (round brackets) are
instructions to the scribe, and "quoted text" is written exactly as given. A
template written elsewhere in that form pastes in unchanged. The templates page
is a list beside a reader, with a New template button and the visit kinds laid
out as a table; a template can also be created from an example note.
Starting a recording now names what it will be. The kind of visit and the note template it implies for your clinic are shown as chips above the consent step, on both the chart and the walk-in path, and either can be changed before recording. The language sent for transcription is shown on the start row, and the patient search lists the clinician's recent patients before anything is typed and searches as you type.
When the Scribe has matched the voices to the clinician and the patient with confidence, the Recording stopped dialog says so and asks nothing; the note starts at once. A wrong match can still be swapped on the note. See AI Scribe.
Also in the Scribe: the live checklist marks the talking points it has already heard, with a compact one-line dock; a sentence's citation finding is a small grey mark rather than an underline; the measurements card shows the follicle size breakdown; and a walk-in recording that never actually recorded is fixed.
Billing codes, in controlled rollout
Beside a signed note, the Scribe can list suggested billing codes with the documentation each one needs, and say plainly when no code on the list is supported by the note. A code is a draft until a reviewer ticks it. This is off for every clinic while its accuracy is measured; it will be enabled per clinic.
European Portuguese
European Portuguese is now a fully translated language across the portal and the staff screens. The Scribe transcribes it, the phone assistant answers a Portuguese-speaking caller in Portuguese, and a patient who uses the portal in Portuguese is answered in Portuguese there and by Eva. See Eva.
Patient messaging
- With approved replies set to Strict, silence is for written channels only. A caller on the phone still hears a line; a text or portal message the wording does not cover is passed to a coordinator without a reply, as before. See patient messaging.
- A reply the assistant withheld no longer looks like one it sent, in the Conversations worklist or the conversation history. Conversation history shows a portal message as text, not its HTML.
- A factual results readback is no longer treated as medical advice and held.
- An escalation goes into the staff digest instead of emailing everyone at once, and duplicate escalation notifications are fixed. See Notifications.
- Resolve closes an open text, portal or email window itself instead of refusing until it is closed.
- The Portal reply on a conversation goes to the patient's live thread, not the one that opened the window.
Eva books the first visit
When a visitor on your website is ready, Eva now offers the soonest open nurse-intake slots and books one, instead of asking for a call back. If the slot goes while the visitor is deciding, she offers the next three. A clinic without intake availability set up keeps the call-back handoff. Eva also follows the language the patient uses on the portal, and takes the portal's theme when embedded there. See Eva and intake nurse availability.
Smaller things
- Portal calendar dates no longer render one day early.
- The patient portal's menu, consent hints and messaging tour are worded for a patient; the staff tour is not shown to patients, and a patient is not invited to write the clinic's posts.
- The prospect portal: an expired link says so honestly and offers a way to ask for a new one, with a real ceiling on attempts.
- Referral uploads are filed in Document Management directories; the Prospects list keeps its place when you come back from a record; a prospect's portal invitations keep their history.
- Sign-up: the plan step no longer prints prices, dark mode reaches the whole wizard, and there is one footer, not two.
- No em-dashes in anything a patient, a coordinator or the assistant reads.
