2026.10.5 set the nurse intake call length and how far ahead it can be booked

Highlights

  • Scheduling: the clinic sets the nurse intake call length and how far ahead patients and staff can book it, on the Availability screen.

Your clinic now sets the length of its nurse intake call and how far ahead patients and staff can book it, on the Availability screen. Pick the length your other scheduling system uses, and the time in the patient's confirmation is one your team can book there too.

Nurse intake call length

On Scheduling, Availability, the new Nurse intake booking card has a call length of 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Times are offered back to back at that length from the start of each working period, so a queue that opens at 9:00am with 30-minute calls offers 9:00, 9:30, 10:00 and so on. The same length applies everywhere a nurse intake is booked: patient replies by text, the patient portal, the website chat, the prospect's record and the calendar.

Changing the length affects new bookings only. Calls already booked keep their length and still block the times they overlap. A patient who was offered a time before the change and replies afterwards is offered fresh times. See The intake call length.

How far ahead patients and staff can book

In the same card, Booking window (days ahead) sets how far ahead nurse intake times are offered, from 1 to 60 days. It applies to the patient's own booking by text, portal and website chat, and to booking from the prospect's record. Clinics that don't change it keep 14 days. See How far ahead patients can book.
